TacToe16: Scaling Tic-Tac-Toe to Win 2nd Place
  Published on:
In January 2020, I participated in the Christmas Hackathon organized by DressCode. Competing solo, I built a project that earned me 2nd place 🏆.
My submission was TacToe16, a tic-tac-toe inspired game that scaled the classic 3x3 format into a larger 4x4 grid. This made the game more strategic and challenging while still preserving the simplicity of the original.
You can see the award announcement here on Instagram.
Key takeaways from this hackathon:
- Building a complete, playable prototype under strict time pressure
- Expanding a familiar concept into something fresh yet intuitive
- Gaining confidence in solo hackathon participation
This was my first big hackathon, and it kickstarted my passion for game dev challenges.
